Hey y'all, this is Scott and welcome to this episode of The Chorus Effect. This is the TLDL. This is the too long, didn't listen in terms of Alex Kuhn and the interview that I just did with him as the founder of Born to Lead and his extraordinary journey from swim coach to very successful entrepreneur to now helping others.

Pursue their ability to deliver good out into the universe. And the TLDL for those who were unable to listen to that episode is a very quick recap and reflection from me in terms of some of the key takeaways and also a way to encourage y'all. To go and listen to that episode when you have time. So really the core message from my awesome interview with Alex was you can have success through authenticity and calculated risk taking.

So let's dive down a little bit into that. First off, The big thing in terms of being able to bet on yourself, there are many times as we progress through life where we become more risk adverse simply because there's more responsibilities, there's more obligations, there's more everything that's thrown on our plate.

And we sometimes forget. That the biggest And best bets that. we can make are the ones that are well calculated and on ourselves, I certainly learned that in terms of my pivot to being a entrepreneur in late 2019 and it looks crazy. On paper, having gone through many, many years as a corporate executive and being successful at it, but it was something that aligned with what my desired values were at the time to be able to provide for my family.

And also leave a legacy of good within the community. And even though that venture was ultimately not successful, I learned from that much like Alex did during his Buffalo moment. And so it led me to a deeper understanding of my true path. Once you have your true path You have to be your authentic self in business, Alex talked about this in the inside out approach that you can listen to more in the full interview.

But for me, when I started out in terms of the professional services in 2022, and I started out as a typical business coach for lack of better term, that did not allow me to bring everything that I was. I was essentially providing a half truth. of all that was the authentic representation of me. And that's what went to the evolution in terms of the integrated self leadership focus and what Corvus stands for today.

So being able to enjoy who you are And to bring you to the professional arena, whether you're doing it with others or for others, that's something that certainly came across in that interview. And then the third thing that I want to reflect on in that interview is what we talked about in terms of the connection crisis that Alex talked about a sense of loneliness that has gone on since the pandemic, and it's almost an epidemic.

In the men's culture that we have today, because one in six adult men believe that they have no true friends in life, which is mind boggling. And the need for that deep personal connection is something that we at times often struggle with. I certainly felt that in December, 2019, as I was transitioning from.

Corporate to entrepreneurship. And along the way, I ended up losing a number of good friends as a result, as I was going through that transition. But as a look at do it today, it shapes how I build my community. It shapes how I interact with my community. And most importantly, it shapes how I bring my values to bear.

In terms of the folks that I want to attract, because ultimately what you put out into the universe is what comes back to you. So hopefully you will realize the authentic core values that make you, you, they are the ones to portray. Into the universe, whether it be in the personal or the professional arena in order to have that true community and tribe around you.

So wrapping it all up, making sure that we have the bets on ourselves, calculated risks, the authenticity in what we do in the professional arena and being able to present our authentic selves to have that. True connection in our lives with the tribe and the community that we are building. Please feel free to listen to the full episode with Alex.
